This why I have two 9 year old bicycles, a 10 year old car, a 13 year old truck, an 8 year old tv, and computers with last-generation components. They all do everything I need them to do. Believe me, I'm always looking for excuses to upgrade, but it's rare that I can actually justify it.

Ah, the "everything good has already been invented" argument. I mean, sure it wasn't true the last 100 times, but this time it probably is.
Actually, I was thinking more along the lines "they have to convince me their new stuff is better than what I already have if they want me to give them money, and some lame advertisement isn't going to do it."
